How to Become a Member
To become a member you have to do the following.
- Sign up on our website!
- You will receive an email instructing you on the payment methods available.
- Pay your Dues (Late Fee: $500). Banking details will be in the email you receive upon joining the site
- Send proof of payment to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
- Wait for approval
- Earn 15 points each year to maintain membership eligibility for the next year
*If you have less than 15 points by November 29th of this year, you will be ineligible to apply to renew your membership until you gain those points by attending JANN events in the following year.
How to earn Points?
Points System
To be considered a member and to be able to renew your membership you must be an active member meaning you must attend events hosted by JANN or participate in activities.
*Meetings are not guaranteed to happen.
- Meetings (1pt)
- Challenges (1pt)
- Webinars / Seminars (2pts)
- Workshops (3pts)
- Volunteer (4pts)
Important Deadlines
- All membership dues are to be collected during the period of January 1st - February 28th
- The deadline for dues will be February 28th and there will be a grace period until April 30th
- July 31st is the cut off date for any new paid members,
*All applicants after July 31st will have to wait until January 1st the following year to apply for a paid membership.
Can I lose membership?
Yes you can lose membership if you
- Don’t maintain 15 pts each year.
- Offend anyone for their race, religious beliefs, sex, gender or any other discriminatory measure.
- If you physically attack or harm any other member during a JANN event.
- If you dox any other JANN member
*doxing - search for and publish private or identifying information about (a particular individual) on the internet, typically with malicious intent.
*Subscribers - ( Subscribers are not official members of JANN )
- Added to our mailing list, where we will send you emails and newsletters with updates on current events and opportunities in the animation community
- Attend free general meetings where you will be kept up to date on the latest industry information directly from professional guest speakers, network with other professional animators.
- Access paid events at a cost
- Access to standard features and information on the website like our event calendar, job rates, studio list, training institution list and more
- Access to standard networking facilities like our Facebook, Discord server, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.

Professional Membership ($3,000 per year *Subject to change)
- Everything that is available in free membership plus…
- Become a member of the executive body
- You can vote for the executive body
- 50 -100% discount on workshops, events and competitions (JANN events only)
- You get a portfolio page just for you and access to your portfolio. This will be a part of our searchable database for potential clients to find and hire you for your services.
- Job Board Access - A space where local and international jobs will be posted for those looking for their next gig.
Premium membership ($5,000 per year)
- Everything included in professional membership plus…
- Portfolio review services
- Pitch Bible consultation
- Festival consultation and facilitation
- Network with professional creatives in other international animation organizations
Student ($2,500 per year *Subject to change. Must have proof of being a student ID + Course Schedule for current semester or year)
