Tanya Davies is a Caribbean Creative who resides in Jamaica and writes, produces, illustrates, designs, teaches and consults in the field of Traditional, Digital, Mobile and Interactive Media (Transmedia). The art of storytelling across all platforms in particular comics, graphic novels and Animation is an area she is currently pursuing.

Writing is her first love and Transmedia Storytelling is her career pursuit. She has written several locally produced television screenplays and serials.GSAT – A Graders which is shown on local television between January and March annually since 2008. She headed the writing team, conceptualized stories and wrote scripts for the Gleaner sponsored online interactive GSAT review game GSAT TUTORS.

Tanya was a recipient of the Association of National Advertisers Award (ANA) in Los Angeles, for her speculative (spec) script episode of the animated sitcom series The Simpsons titled “Roach Busters”. The episode is a tongue-in-cheek ode to the film Ghost Busters, where Springfield is overcome with mutant sized cockroaches, Homer discovers the formula that can eliminate the creatures and  forms the Roach Busters team.

Her credits also include the action/adventure feature length screenplay titled, Maroon which received Honorary Mention in the Organization of Black Screenwriters (OBS) Screenwriting Competition and Jury of Peers Competition. Her upcoming goal is to convert the screenplay into a graphic novel in 2015.

Tanya was the Festival Coordinator of Animae Caribe 2012 and shortly thereafter helped to merge the JAMPRO initiated Jamaica Animation Networkand Corretta Singer’s Jamaica Animation Nation into one association the Jamaica Animation Nation Network (JANN).

She currently teaches Videography and Scriptwriting/Writing for Radio, Television and the Web (Webisodes and Podcasts) at the University of Technology’s Communication Arts and Technology Department (BCAT).
